Play with Your Food!

We hold 'Play With Your Food' events once a month. We set up tables with desserts such as brownies, rice crispie treats or gingerbread people that can be decorated with various colored frostings and toppers (such as marshmallows, M&Ms, jelly beans and sprinkles) so that students can dress up their treat however they like! We have themes to go along with the time of year. This year students decorated their desserts in Back to School, Autumn and Holiday Season themes. We give out prizes for the best designs.

Eating Healthy in a New Set-Up

I feel like it is harder at the new dining services to eat healthy. There used to be fruit on the salad bar and in union station. I think the cooler with the gluten free food should be moved to aces since it is packaged food and put servings of fresh and canned fruit, yogurt, jello, and pasta salad Etc. in that cooler to get as a side (like what used to be in union station).

It would be good if Ritchie Marketplace stayed open longer for athletes who have practice during the dinner time and also if they offered a vegan option at each meal.

More Gluten Free & Vegan Options

Having a wider variety of gluten free and vegan foods would be fabulous. Currently there are no dessert options for vegans, and dining at the halls generally consists of a very unhealthy concoction (not to mention boring and consistent) of options for those with special dietary needs. I would love to see soy ice cream in the dining halls, and gluten free / vegan pastries. They are also lower in fat and so a good addition for those looking to eat healthier.
