Helping Hands Across America is an annual event sponsored by Sodexo. On November 12th, Sodexo, together with it's business partners, clients and neighbors will set out to collect enough canned and non-perishable food items to break a Guinness World Record. The collected items will then be donated to local food banks and charities.
Stevens Dining Services also hosted the Helping Hands Campaign. We started the campaign on October 17th, 2010. To promote this campaign, we first contacted Student Life Committee, Student Government Association, Greek Community, and Ethnic Student Council. Then, we promoted the event through Stevens Dining page, Facebook and flyers. The Student Life Committee has helped us to promote this event through Student Life Newsletter on a weekly basis. The key student who has helped us to make this event successful was Chris Ciabattone, the President of Delta Tau Delta. He and his brothers from Delta Tau Delta donated 900lbs of canned food!! Many thanks to them.
Then, we brought all the food to local church in Hoboken where they will distribute all the donations. We are really thrilled that we helped our neighbor in need and make them happy.
